The 'Gathering of Kings' luau is a special event held only on Saturdays at the Fairmont Orchid, Plantation Estates on the big island of Hawaii.
The fusion of traditional Polynesian and modern dance is evident from the first step as the performers guide us through the islands of Samoa, Tahiti, Hawaii and Aotearoa (New Zealand). The kings from each of these Polynesian cultures will finally come together to recognize the star that brought them to these islands and under which they rose to greatness.
The unification of the islands can be summed up with the Hawaiian saying:
"E ola mau ka lokahi - May our unification be boundless".
The extensive research into this production is evident from the start. If you are on the big island on a Tuesday or Saturday night its hard to find an equal to the 'Gathering of Kings'.
