Maui Surf School has offered professional surfing lessons in Lahaina, Maui since 1994. Guaranteed to stand in your first 2 hour lesson or it's free. Over 50,000 empowered graduates!
In the intro lesson students learn fundamentals for surfing much like they would learn from practicing Yoga or Martial Arts. We've had an immense amount of time and experience to develop a method of teaching based on fundamentals and principal areas of focus. Along with introducing 4 basic surfing stances, instruction focus on safety, navigating the surf zone, and ocean awareness. Upon graduation, students are awarded a Beginner Surfer Diploma. We keep it low pressure, safe and fun!
We offer 2 hour and 3 hour group or private lessons. Full Day Surf Camp is a 6 hour adventure from 9am -3pm Monday through Saturday. We teach any age; however, for children 9 and under, we require them to be in a private lesson, because it would not be fair to mix them with other customers, as the attention of the instructor would naturally focus more on the child. Safety is our main concern.
We limit all class sizes to no more than 5 students per instructor. Once we book more that 5 students we will bring in another instructor and start a new group. We do this to ensure maximum safety of everyone in the water as well as the potential for more waves per student.
Surf Camps
Full day 9:00am-3:00pm or 3-Hour 9:00am-Noon
Surf camps are open to everyone and are geared primarily towards beginner level surfers. Lunch at Pacifico's Restaurant included for full day camps. Students will begin their day with stretching and an extended introductory surfing lesson. Lunch will follow, with a rest on the beach and some time to talk about a millennium of surfing history and evolution. The afternoon lesson will introduce intermediate surfing skills and focus on taking students to the next level. Guests are provided with professional supervision both in and out of the water all day. Perfect for the young at heart.
What To Know:

Check in time is always 30 minutes prior to class time at the Goofy Foot Surf Shop located at 505 Front Street Lahaina, Suite #123.
Included in price: all the equipment necessary for the lesson (the surfboard, reef shoes, and a lycra surf shirt.)
Please bring: swim suit, towel, and sun block
Lunch is provided for those participating in the Full Day Surf Camp.
